"Life without change is not living; To be uncomfortable means that change is right around the corner!"
I believe these words wholeheartedly as every individual arrives at crossroads, minor or grand, that determine whether they move forward, backward or remain stagnant. Thus I work alongside those who may be within a crossroad in life that has them questioning which direction to choose. In my work as a Marriage/Family, Individual and Adolescent Therapist, my clinical training and experience encompasses depression, couples enrichment, grief/loss, separation/divorce, relationship issues, and other emotional/interpersonal disturbances. I particularly specialize in therapy for varying forms of trauma such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, death/illness and so on.
“I believe in the person I want to become.” I believe that the best solution for every problem often resides within ourselves, but sometimes it is helpful to have someone support us to learn the tools to answer the problem. With over 15 years of experience in the field of counseling, along with licensure as LCSW and CSOTP since 2007, I take pride in helping individuals improve lives.
Some areas of my focus include addressing depression, mood swings, anxiety, grief, trauma, abuse, anger and behavioral concerns. I look forward to meeting new clients, including youth and adults, and working together to help them progress on their goals and improve lives. Making the decision to call is the first step in a journey towards growth.
"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." -Albert Einstein
Those are powerful words that we should all keep in mind as we experience this journey called life. However, there are times that we might get mired down in the muck that life throws at us. What these curve-balls look like could be quite varied from loss/grief, family tension, children that may have a behavior issues, or those who just have difficulties understanding what it is that they are facing. During these moments of stagnation, sometimes we need a little help to get back on track.
In my work as a therapist, I take pride in assisting those, who may be stuck or who are at a loss of where to go. With over eight years experience in the counseling field and with licensure as a LCSW since 2014, I am passionate about assisting others overcome all the obstacles they may face on their life's journey.
Some areas of focus include the following: mood disorders, anxiety, grief/trauma and behavioral issues. I utilize a strengths-based perspective in my work combined with the Cognitive-Behavioral model of therapy. Play therapy techniques are provided to assist young children, who may not be appropriate for traditional talk-therapy models. I look forward to meeting new individuals and assisting them in their respective journeys.
